Propolis Tincture (extract) handcrafted from our honeybee hives

Propolis Tincture. 30ml (1 ounce) in an amber bottle with a dropper in the lid. 

Propolis contains flavonoids, protein, fatty acids as well as trace minerals and other beneficial compounds.  Propolis has many qualities including being anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral. It has been used historically for dental issues, cold sores, and may speed recovery from illnesses by stimulating the immune system.  

Our Propolis tincture is processed from the highest quality propolis from our hives. 
Due to the alcohol that is used in the process, the tincture will have the smell and taste of alcohol. Our honeybees make the propolis and we make the propolis tincture.  We don't buy propolis, make tincture from it and then label it as our own.

What is Propolis?

Honey bees make propolis by gathering resin from trees such as poplar, pine and other resin producing trees. After gathering the resin, the bees combine it with wax and some of their enzymes. Propolis is often referred to as "bee glue" as the bees use it to seal openings in the hives, and to "stick" the hive boxes together. Propolis is soft and gooey-chewy when soft, and hard to the point of being brittle when cold. The antimicrobial properties of propolis help protect the hive from viruses and bacteria. Researchers have learned bees living in hives with the interior walls coated with propolis have lower bacteria in their body and also healthier immune systems than bees living in hives without propolis on the walls.
